WATCH: 'X Factor UK' judges play Bond girls for Pinay auditioner
MANILA, Philippines – When two of the judges get up from their seats to be backup dancers, you know it’s a good audition – and that’s exactly what happened for Filipina Gaga Lord, a UK-based Filipina who auditioned for the X Factor UK singing Shirley Bassey’s Bond song, “Diamonds are Forever.”
At the beginning of her audition, the 40-year-old cafeteria lady said that simply to sing in front of the judges was already a dream come true. Little did she know that her dream was about to become even better.
Halfway through her song, judge Simon Cowell stopped her – not to end the audition, but to ask fellow judges Nicole Scherzinger and Alesha Dixon to join Gaga to recreate the Bond girl silhouettes in the James Bond title sequence.
Nicole and Alesha played their parts well, but not better than Gaga, who nailed the song, earning 4 yeses from the judges and advancing through to the next round.
“Thank you very much, my lovely ladies,” she said, hugging her Bond girls at the end of the song.
The eventful audition led an impressed Simon to say “That was it. We were in our own James Bond movie. That was amazing.” – Rappler.com
