Krista Miller acquitted of drug charges

MANILA, Philippines – Actress Krista Miller has been acquitted of illegal drug trading charges and was released from prison on May 25.

According to Inquirer.net, 27-year-old Miller, whose real name is Krystalyn Engle y Bacolod, was acquitted from the charge of violating RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The judge who acquitted Miller was Snooky Maria Ana C. Bareno-Sagayo of Branch 283 of the Valenzuela Regional Trial Court. Chief Inspector Jundelina Jagunap, warden of the Valenzuela City Jail, signed Miller’s Certificate of Discharge.

Miller entered the Valenzuela City Jail on October 14, 2016 after she and a male companion were arrested at a gas station along General Tiburcio de Leon Street in Valenzuela City. Miller has been updating her Facebook page since her release, first saying “Thank you, Lord!” on May 25 and later mentioning her kids and posting photos of herself. At the time of her arrest, Miller had a 6-month-old son and was almost 5 months pregnant. (READ: Krista Miller confirms pregnancy)

Krista made headlines before as the woman who allegedly came between Sunshine Cruz and Cesar Montano. She was also identified as one of the hospital visitors of convicted drug lord Ricardo Camata in 2014. – Rappler.com
