MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Brian Velasco, drummer of iconic Filipino rock band Razorback, on Wednesday, January 16, died in an apparent suicide. He was 41. 

Razorback confirmed the news on Facebook, saying: “Today we lost our brother….and our hearts are broken…..we love you and we will always miss you Bri.” 

In a report, Manila police said the 41-year-old was found lifeless at around 9:45 am on the safety canopy covering the first floor of the Malate, Manila condominium building he was living in. Police said he was brought to the Paz Funeral Homes in Paranaque City. 

Velasco, according to his Facebook profile, joined Razorback as its drummer in 1996. 

He had apparently died by suicide and streamed the act on Facebook. His friends and followers caught parts of the live video, which had since been taken down.
