Why is Justin Bieber challenging Tom Cruise to a UFC fight?

MANILA, Philippines – Justin Bieber, for reasons that remain unclear, challenged Tom Cruise to a fight in the octagon on Monday, June 10. He did so via Twitter, of course.

I wanna challenge Tom Cruise to fight in the octagon. Tom if you dont take this fight your scared and you will never live it down. Who is willing to put on the fight? @danawhite ?

“The octagon” refers to the ring used by the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship). It’s an 8-sided “neutral arena to showcase the skills of UFC athletes.” 

While Tom Cruise has yet to respond to the Bieb’s challenge, other Twitter users have. 

Conor McGregor, a UFC champion, retweeted Justin’s tweet and said McGregor Sports and Entertainment would be willing to host the fight. “Does Cruise have the sprouts to fight, like he does in the movies? Stay tuned to find out!” he added. 

Others were more concerned about Justin’s grammar. Jane Lynch simply tweeted in reply: “You’re.”

Justin is best known for dominating the airwaves during the late 2000s and early 2010s. Tom Cruise, meanwhile, first rose to fame in the 1980s and has been the star of numerous movie franchises since.
