An animated Spice Girls movie is in the works
This is what we want, what we really, really want

MANILA, Philippines – The Spice Girls may be spicing up our lives again very soon.

A superhero-themed Spice Girls movie is reportedly being developed, with all 5 members of the group on board.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project is being planned as an animated feature, and will include classic Spice Girls songs, as well as new music from the iconic 90s pop group. It is eyed for a 2020 release.

The feature is being developed by Paramount Animation, whose president Mireille Soria said that the group “had an idea that we’ve been developing.”

The animated feature isn’t the Spice Girls’ first big screen venture. At the height of their fame in 1997, the group starred in the box office hit Spice World.

The group – which includes Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Melanie Brown (Scary Spice), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice), and Geri Haliwell (Ginger Spice) – are, according to Mireille, “very involved.”

Simon Fuller is slated to produce the film, while Karen McCullah and Kiwi Smith are writing the screenplay.

The Spice Girls formed in 1994 and proceeded to take the world by storm with hits such as “Wannabe,” “Stop,” “2 Become 1,” and “Spice Up Your Life.”

The group, minus Victoria, are currently on their Spice World 2019 tour. – Rappler.com
