What does Joey Marquez think of Kris-Herbert romance?

Actor Joey Marquez did not say much in answer to questions about former girlfriend Kris Aquino who admitted on Monday, April 7 that she and Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista were dating.

According to ABS-CBN, Joey who was in a blogger’s conference for the movie Da Possessed, eventually gave a general statement about Kris. 

“I am very happy for all of us, for the entire world,” he said.

Asked for his reaction if he saw a pattern on the men in Kris’ life, he replied: “Love and peace for everybody for this coming Lenten season.”

Similar to Herbert, the actor-comedian was once involved in politics as mayor of Parañaque from 1998 to 2004. He and Kris had a very public break-up in 2003 when she accused him of pointing a gun at her and giving her a sexual transmitted disease.

On Herbert, Kris broke her silent on Aquino & Abunda Tonight, ending weeks of speculation of the mystery man in her life.

“Herbert and I are partners in either the failure or success of our being together. And we can strengthen what we have by allowing ourselves to have a chance at forever by keeping quiet and private about what is here and now,” she said. 

Kris’ relationships have often been the talk of the town. In 1994, she met actor Phillip Salvador, whom she was working with in a movie. They had a son, Joshua, and lived together. They separated in 1999.

In 2005, Kris married basketball star James Yap in a civil rights ceremony. They had a son, Bimby, but in 2010, Kris announced that she and James were separating. Their marriage was annulled in 2012. In 2013, Kris filed a temporary protection order against James after he allegedly made unwanted sexual advances on her. James denied the allegations. 

Since then, however, things appear to have improved between Kris and James, with James even saying in March 2014 that Kris was ‘blooming.’ 

Last February, the former couple decided to make peace after reaching custody and visitation agreements. Most recently, Kris also talked about splitting the cost of Bimby’s birthday party with James, and said that she even invited James’ current girlfriend, Michaela Cazzola, to join them at the party.
