MANILA, Philippines – Richard Gutierrez’s mother Annabelle Rama has spoken up about the accusations hurled at her by actress Sarah Lahbati’s mom Esther.

Sarah and Richard have a son, Zion. Recently, after Zion’s first birthday celebration, reports surfaced that Esther was allegedly unhappy about how she was treated at the party. 

According to a report by Pep, Esther posted on social media about how she felt ignored during the party, and was offered leftovers. The post on Instagram is no longer available for public viewing. 

In a recent interview with media during a spa party for daughter Ruffa’s birthday, Annabelle said she could not understand the reason why Esther was upset.

“Hindi ko alam kung bakit nagkaroon ng isyung ganun,” she said. “Basta kami, nagsaya sa party.”

“Nakita ko naman siya, akyat siya sa stage, nagpi-pictorial siya dun. Nakita ko siya, masaya naman siya doon,” Annabelle added.

(I don’t know why there’s an issue. We were all enjoying the party. I saw her and she went on stage. She had photos taken, and she seemed happy.)

She also said that she was surprised that Sarah’s mother was upset over the issue. 

“Sabi ko, ba’t siya magagalit, e, normal naman sa ating mga Pilipino ganun, na mag-takeout naman talaga kung may matira, ‘di ba?

“At saka hindi ko akalain na masama ang loob niya, kasi after that party, tumuloy pa siya sa bahay nina Richard,” Annabelle said.

(I wondered why she was angry, it’s normal for us Filipinos to take-out the leftovers, right? And i did not know that she was upset because after the party, she went to Richard’s house.)

“Dapat hindi siya nakikisawsaw sa gulo. Kasi dapat, ang araw na yun, araw ng apo niya.” (She should have stayed out of trouble because that day was for her grandson.)

Instead, Annabelle told Esther to stop, and said that she was not afraid of her. 

“Tigilan mo na ‘yang arte-arte mo, Esther. Ako ay naiinis na sa ‘yo. Huwag mo ako hamunin, hindi ako natatakot sa ‘yo!

“Tumigil ka na, tama na ‘yan! ” (Stop it already Esther. I am  getting irritated with you. Don’t threaten me because I am not afraid of you. Stop it, enough already.)

She also said that she will not apologize to Esther because she did not do anything to her.

“‘Day, wala akong ipagso-sorry sa ‘yo. Wala. Wala akong kasalanan.

“Minahal ko anak mo, minahal ko apo mo, inalagaan ko silang dalawa,” she said. (I have nothing to apologize because I did not commit any wrong against you. I loved your daughter, your grandson and I took care of them).

Esther’s daughter Sarah did not directly comment on the matter, but posted messages about her family on her Instagram account, saying that she hoped that things could be settled internally. 

“We have gone through a lot in the past year and a half. Both the Lahbatis and the Gutierrezes had to go through lots of obstacles and sacrifices to be able to help Chard and I deal with our problems. Now that all the dust has settled, everyone is happy that we have a new family member, baby Zion,” she wrote.

“He is such a blessing to us. Zion has brought so much joy to our lives, everybody wants to spend time with him. Like any other family we have misunderstandings but we will settle this internally and we will move forward. I hope that we can all live in harmony. Accept, support and understand one another for the sake of baby Zion.”
