MANILA, Philippines – Two weeks after confirming that she and actor Matteo Guidicelli are together, singer Sarah Geronimo believes that what they have is for keeps.

In an interview with The Buzz on Sunday, July 6, Saran said she decided to confirm the relationship because it’s time to be “normal.”

“Bilang magtu-twenty-six na ako, parang na-realize ko lang sa sarili ko, it’s time to decide na maging normal. Maging normal na tao. Maging normal na babae. Maging normal sa emosyon ko,” she said.

(Since I’m turning twenty-six, I realized it’s time to decide to be normal. To be a normal person. To be a normal girl. To have normal emotions.)

Sarah also said that she will not enter into a relationship if she knows it’s not worth it. “Ako siyempre kapag nagmahal ka ng isang tao, lagi mong tinitignan ‘yun na worth keeping.” (When I love someone, I would check if its worth keeping.)

But Sarah stressed that she would like to keep the other details of their relationship private, adding that it’s enough she shared a part of her personal life with the public.

When asked what made her say that Matteo was worth it,  Sarah said: ” Si Matt ano siya, matiyaga (he’s very persistent).”

Prior to admitting they were in a relationship, the two tried to keep it low-profile, avoiding questions about it.

But in recent months, the couple have been spotted together with Sarah even attending Matteo’s birthday, and going out on dates with other couples.

In an interview with ABS-CBN’s North America Bureau, Matteo said that he’s happy that he can finally call Sarah his girlfriend.

“I’m very proud of her, that she’s standing up for herself. You know, she’s 25 years old and she’s starting to enjoy life more. I want to show her what life is! I just want her to be happy!” he said. – Rappler.com
