GMA Network: Aljur Abrenica issue ‘very unfortunate’

MANILA, Philippines – GMA-7 Network has released a statement regarding the complaint of one of its talents Aljur Abrenica, after the actor filed a petition to terminate his contract with the station. 

In a statement reported by GMA News, the network said they consider the case ‘very unfortunate.’

“GMA Artist Center has not been remiss in its duties as his manager, practising a consultative style of management with Aljur. With his best interest in mind, this practice has accorded him every opportunity to personally assess all offers to reach a mutual agreement.”

“GMA Network has equally given him projects, some of which were lead roles in the Network’s primetime programs.”

“Aljur is a home-grown GMA talent who was discovered through the reality search, Starstruck, in 2007.”

The statement also mentioned some of his projects such as Coffee Prince, Kambal Sirena, All My life, and The Last Prince. Endorsements and other projects were arranged by GMA Artist Center and the network for him.

On Thursday, July 24, Aljur went to the Quezon City Hall of Justice to file the petition of rescission.

According to Pep, he said that it was a difficult decision for him. 

Kaya po ako nandito ngayon… sa totoo nga lang po, e, ayoko nga po sanang umabot sa ganito. Ako po yung huling tao na magdedesisyon na malagay sa ganitong kalagayan,” Aljur said.

(That’s why I am here today…the truth is I did not want to reach to this point. I am the last person who would decide to be in this type of situation.)

Aljur however clarified that there are no offers from other networks. He said that there are many things he wants to do with career, which he said is not part of the network’s plans for him. – Rappler.com
