Held last August 1-10, the 10th year of Cinemalaya was not without controversy. On August 9, it was discovered that selected movies from the 2012 and 2013 batches were uploaded online without permission from the directors and producers, which made them angry.

Nestor Jardin, president of the Cinemalaya Foundation issued an apology during the Awards Night and has since called for a dialogue with the directors and producers of the films affected by the issue. – Rappler.com
