WATCH: Reunion alert! ‘Friends’ cast members in character on ‘Kimmel’
Phoebe, Rachel, and Monica together again on screen – at least, in the world of 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'!

MANILA, Philippines – There were countless rumors about Friends reunions, but nothing official ever came of that – until a surprise for fans, courtesy of Jimmy Kimmel.

This may be as close as we might get to seeing the cast together again while “in character.” While making an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote her new movie Life of Crime, Jennifer Aniston participated in a skit which involved a recreation of the Friends set and a reading of a fan fiction script supposedly written by Jimmy. Hilarity ensues, of course, with a less than enthusiastic Jennifer as Rachel Green.

But the real surprise comes in when Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox enter the scene to reprise their roles as Phoebe and Monica – or at least, as they’re written in the “script.”

Friends, the hit comedy that ran for 10 seasons from 1994 to 2004, followed the lives and loves of six buddies as they navigate their late 20s (into their 30s) in New York City. Audiences fell in love with Monica, Phoebe, Rachel, Chandler, Ross, Joey, and the rest of the revolving door of guest stars playing colorful characters on the show.

The show ended in 2004 and also resulted in a spin-off for Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc’s character), the lovable ladies’ man and actor, but was canceled after two seasons.

In 2013, the show’s co-creator Marta Kauffman crushed fans’ hopes of a reunion, as she told E! Online that a movie reunion was never likely to happen. Friends was about that time in your life when your friends are your family and once you have a family, there’s no need anymore,” she said.

What do you think of the Friends “reunion”? Not good enough or will you take what you can get? Let us know in the comments below. – Rappler.com
