Dingdong Dantes takes oath as youth commissioner

MANILA, Philippines – Actor Dingdong Dantes has taken his oath as Commissioner-at-Large for the National Youth Commission on Monday, Sept 1, at the Rizal Hall of Malacañang Palace.

President Benigno Aquino III administered the oath to Dingdong (real name Jose Sixto Dantes III).  Dingdong was accompanied by his parents and fiancee Marian Rivera.

Dingdong, who is currently seen in GMA 7’s Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real was appointed to the position last May. 

Marian posted a photo of her, Dingdong and his family, congratulating her fiance. They will be getting married this December. 

“Congratulations Asec. Jose Sixto G. Dantes III, We are so proud of you,” the caption read.

Dingdong’s position as commissioner-at-large, according to the National Youth Commission website, is for 3 years.

Aside from the NYC, Dingdong also serves as ambassador for Youth for the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and is active with his foundation called Yes Pinoy Foundation. 

Dingdong was recently one of the organizers of the NYC’s 2-day workshop held from August 11-12 on disaster risk reduction in celebration of nternational Youth Day  – Rappler.com
