Cherry Pie Picache, family release statement on mother’s death

MANILA, Philippines – Actress Cherry Pie Picache and her family released a statement, following the death of the actress’ 75 year-old mother Zenaida Sison, who was found dead Friday night. 

According to a report from ABS-CBN, the family said they are “very aggrieved from this unfortunate event,” and hope that the police will find those responsible for Sison’s death.

“We trust that the QCPD together with the Scene of Crime Operation (SOCO) through their vigilance and effort will apprehend the person or persons who committed this gruesome crime against our mother and family and to our society,” the family’s statement said.

“We would like to thank the office of the mayor of Quezon City, Herbert Bautista for their immediate action. Harlene Bautista Tejedor for her assistance.”

Picache and family also thanked the QCPD and SOCO for their assistance as well as friends and people who lent them their support.

On Friday, September 19,  Picache found the lifeless body of her mother, bearing stab wounds inside her house in Quezon City. TV5 reported that Picache went to the house as she was worried that her mother was not answering her calls.
