Derek, Mary Christine reach 'compromise agreement'?
MANILA, Philippines – Actor Derek Ramsay and his estranged wife Mary Christine Jolly have reportedly settled the issues between them for the sake of their son Austin.
According to a report from Pep, Judge Eugene Paras of Branch 58 of the Makati Regional Trial Court confirmed the report that they have ironed everything between them.
“Derek and Mary entered into a compromise agreement for the sake of their son Austin.”
“The terms are kept private and confidential so you may choose to ask Derek instead."
Judge Paras however said that he was not the one who handled the case. He also posted photos of him with Derek and Mary Christine, which have since been deleted, but are available on Pep.
Although he has yet to speak on the matter, Derek posted a photo of him and his son Austin taken last October 23 on Twitter and Instagram.
"Today is the happiest day of my life. Thank you for all the prayers. God is good. Love ya Austin. #prouddad," he wrote.
Joji Alonso, Derek's lawyer, said they will give a formal statement on October 30.
Mary Christine’s lawyer Argee Guevarra did not immediately comment on the matter.
Last August, Mary Christine filed a complaint saying that Derek violated the Violence Against Women and their Children Act, accusing Derek of not supporting their son. (READ: Mary Christine Jolly speaks up on case against Derek Ramsay)
Mary Christine and her lawyer have since filed a motion to withdraw the case from the Makati Prosecutor’s Office, saying that they did not think that they would be given a fair hearing.
Aside from the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004 complaint, Mary Christine also filed a concubinage charge against Derek and his ex-girlfriend Angelica Panganiban, after the actress said they lived together during their relationship. – Rappler.com
