He recently launched a new Korean chicken restaurant called Hoolala, and talked to reporters at the event.

Paolo said he didn’t have any second thoughts when co-owner Grace Lee approached him to ask if he would be interested to partnering with her for this venture. Talent manager Arnold Vegafria is also a partner.

“Actually, kami ni Grace matagal na kaming nag-uusap ng iba’t-ibang klaseng negosyo kasi kasama ko siya sa morning show. We share a lot of ideas with each other with regard to various types of businesses,” he said.

(Actually, Grace and I have been talking for a long time about the different types of businesses because we’re together in a morning show.)

Hoolala Chicken House is the former grocery place of Grace’s, which she transformed into a fast food restaurant, and can accommodate 60 diners. The establishment is open daily until 3 in the morning.

“Grace and her mom know how to do it right. They went to Korea and found recipes, they found ways how to do it, and even brought equipment from there. I also know the kind of quality that Grace is after for and the kind of detail that the mom is looking for in terms of presentation,” Paolo shared.

“This serves as my therapy. Opening restaurants helped me a lot.  This is my second restaurant after Puñta in Shaw Boulevard, which opened on October 18. I will soon be opening a Pampanga-cuisine deli place called ‘Bale’ together with my chef partners and an architect, and then I will be opening a Japanese restaurant after that,” he said.

As for his work in TV5, he said that he is still is active and in fact will be back to do the show Aksyon sa Umaga.

“I will be anchoring [from] outside. I will be interacting with the people. I will be the one talking to the local residents doon sa pinagshu-shootingan namin, (where we are shooting) which for me is very appealing. It’s a different feel when you are in the studio, iba rin kung nasa labas ka. (it’s very different when you’re outside.) I’m comfortable naman in doing both.”
