Why Luis Manzano declined role in movie with Vilma and Angel

MANILA, Philippines – Star for All Seasons and Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos confirmed that son Luis was suppose to be part of the movie she and Angel Locsin will be doing, but decided to decline the role.

In an interview with Pep during the birthday celebration thrown for her by Mother Lily Monteverde, Vilma said that her son decided to decline to offer for now.

“Originally, dapat kaming tatlo. Pero parang ang anak ko, parang ayaw na muna niya. (Originally, it was suppose to be the 3 of us. But my son, he does not want to do it for now.)

“Hindi ko alam kung ano’ng itatawag dun, yung sa relationship nila, ibebenta nang ganun,” she said.

(I don’t know how to call it, their relationship, to be sold like that.) 

“Masyadong malaki ang respeto ni Lucky sa relationship nila ni Angel na parang ayaw niya na ma-commercial ba.

(Luis has a lot of respect for his relationship with Angel, that he does not want it to be commercialized.)

“The good thing is nirerespeto naman namin yung desisyon ni Lucky, (we respect Lucky’s decision)” she said.

“Tawa sila nang tawa kapag niloloko ko. Pag nagdi-dinner kami sa bahay, sabi ko, ‘Nak [Luis], Gel [Angel], baby na!’  Tatawa lang siya. ‘Don’t worry, Mom, huwag kang mainip.'”

(They laugh when I tease them about it. When we have dinner at the house, I would sa ‘ Son, Gel baby please!’ He would just laugh. ‘Don’t worry Mom, don’t be impatient.’)

With regard to her other son Ryan Christian, Vilma said that her youngest is interested in pursuing politics, but might also be interested in showbiz. 

“Sa nakikita ko sa anak ko, baka doon siya pupunta [politics]. Although intresado rin siya sa show business dahil idol niya yung kuya niya, si Lucky. Idol niya.

(From what I am seeing, he might go there [politics]. Although is also interested in showbiz because he idolizes his brother, Lucky. 

“Nag-aaral din siya ng drums, gusto rin niya ang kamera.” (He is studying the drums, he also likes the camera.) – Rappler.com
