MANILA, Philippines – Derek Ramsay denied reports that he is being offered to go back to ABS-CBN.

“Di ba sabi ko nga na wala akong sama ng loob sa kanila. Ayoko isipin na galit sila sa akin. Gusto ko na lang isipin na it’s a business decision, that’s why they make those decisions,” he said duriing the press conference for the final 4 teams of The Amazing Race Philippines, Monday, December 1.

(I’ve said it before, I am not upset with them. I do not want to think they are angry with me. I just want to think that it’s a business decision, that’s why they make those decisions.)

“That’s the way I want to look at it, and we did spend 6 years with ABS-CBN. I give a lot of credit to them that’s why I am Derek Ramsay.

“My contract is coming to an end but we are now under renegotiations, but nothings on paper just yet.”

Derek said that he will still give priority to TV5 if other networks offer him. However, he is open to doing a project with Star Cinema if given a chance.

“TV5 is my priority. I have to give them that respect because they have been good to me. More than good. If they say, ‘I don’t need your services anymore,’ then I’ll respect them.”

“I’ve always been open. I would love to work with Star Cinema again. We had a successful partnership doing movies together. Sana puwede ako gumawa uli ng pelikula with them.” (I hope I can make a film with them again.)

It has been rumored  that ABS-CBN was not happy with Derek’s decision to switch networks in 2012. During the promotion of the movie A Secret Affair with Anne Curtis, Derek’s name was not mentioned when promoting on ABS-CBN shows.

Derek is busy this month promoting the movie English Only Please with GMA 7 actress Jennylyn Mercado. The movie is an entry to December’s Metro Manila Film Festival.

As for his personal life, Derek said he is happy that everything has been settled between him and ex-wife Mary Christine Jolly, and that he can spend time with his son Austin. (READ: Derek not giving up on love after Mary Christine drama)

“I am very, very happy. A new member has been added to my family and I’m really looking forward to a time that entire family can be together and he can be introduced to my whole family,” Derek said of his son.

“He’s a very smart kid. He calls me Dad already, but there is still a long way for me to go, the time to catch up with him in the short time that we spent together.” – Rappler.com
