Freddie Aguilar's wife, now 18, on her birthday wish
MANILA, Philippines – Freddie Aguilar’s wife celebrated her 18th birthday on Sunday, November 30.
According to a report from ABS-CBN, Jovie Albao celebrated her birthday at Freddie’s music bar in Quezon City.
Jovie was 17 when she married Freddie, 61 in Muslim rites in November 2013 in Maguindanao.
"Kasi noong nagkarelasyon kami [ni Freddie], sobrang naging isyu. Lahat ng masasakit na salita, natanggap nila (parents)," Jovie said. "Parang ano ba... Nakakalungkot isipin, 'di ba, na hindi naman sila kasali sa isyu [pero nadamay sila]."
(When Freddie and I entered the relationship, it became controversial. All the hurtful words, they (parents) accepted it. It's vey sad to think think about it because they are not part of the issue, but they were dragged into it.)
Jovie said that she and Freddie love each other very much.
According to Freddie, Jovie will finish a culinary arts program next year and they are planning to put up a cafe together. They are also planing a second honeymoon next year either in Mindoro or during one of his tours in the US or Europe.
(I hope all of my dreams will come true, that I can help my family, that I can achieve my ambitions without stepping on anyone. And that we live peacefully everyday with God's guidance.)
The relationship between Jovie and Freddie became controversial when Freddie admitted he was going out with Jovie, who was then 16 years old. The Department of Social Welfare and Development also made sure that she was not forced into the relationship by her parents or by Freddie.
