Lovi Poe says she’s moved on after issue with director Erik Matti

MANILA, Philippines – Actress Lovi Poe said that she has moved on from the misunderstanding between her and director Erik Matti, who directed the Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles.

“For me honestly, I’ve moved on from it already. I wish him all the best this Christmas,” Lovi said during a live interview on The Buzz, Sunday December 7. 

When asked if she and the director ever fixed the situation, Lovi said: “Wala sigurong pagkakataon na makapagusap. Pero for me naman, sa akin okay na ako, nag-move on na talaga ako.”

(There was really no chance to sit down and talk. But for me, I am okay, I’ve already moved on.) 

Last September, the director took to Facebook to express anger and disappointment at the actress and her manager Leo Dominguez’s refusal to film the sequel of The Aswang Chronicles, Kubot, starring Dingdong Dantes. Lovi was part of the first movie as DIngdong’s love interest.

In the post, he said that Lovi was only required to shot for two days for the second film. He wrote that they tried everything to get her to agree to do the movie as signed in the agreement they had. When she finally agreed to do it however, her management asked for a higher fee. The film Kubot has a different leading lady now in Isabelle Daza. 

Direk Erik’s post got the attention of the Professional Artist Managers, Inc (PAMI), which released a statement saying that they were supporting Lovi’s manager Leo Dominguez.

Dondon Monteverde, one of the producers of the movie, however was disappointed with PAMI’s statement, saying that the group did not hear their side.

In his Facebook post, Dondon said: “I am not in the habit of posting my grievances on social media, but today I have to make an exception. 

Professional Artists Managers, Inc. (PAMI) released in one of their statements in support of their member, Leo Dominguez, against the Facebook complaint of my director, talent and co-producer in Reality Entertainment, Mr. Erik Matti, regarding the non-compliance of the contractual obligations of Lovi Poe.

I am surprised at how PAMI arrived at a consensus to support Leo Dominguez without even hearing our side of the story.”

Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles is the follow up to the 2012 film Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles. The movie opens on December 25 as part of the Metro Manila Film Festival. – Rappler.com
