MANILA, Philippines – The mother and brother of Jam Sebastian, one half of the popular YouTube duo Jamich, said that all they want this coming Christmas is for him to get well, months after his lung cancer diagnosis.

In an interview on Startalk Saturday, December 20, Maricar Sebastian and Jam’s brother Yexel said that they could not bear seeing Jam suffer from his condition.

“Everyday torture. Every minute may fear kasi hindi ko alam kung may surprises na nangyayari sa anak ko. Kung ano yung ayaw ko marinig, yung ayoko mangyari, iyon yung nangyayari sa anak ko,” Maricar said.

(Every minute, we fear because I don’t know what might happen to my son. What I don’t want to hear, what I don’t want to happen, that’s what happening to my son.)

Yexel on the other hand said that he grateful that Jam’s fiancee Paolinne Michelle Liggayu is there to support his brother. (READ: Jamich: A love story for keeps)

“Believe ako kay Paolinne. Malaking pasasalamat ko na na hindi niya iniwan. Although napapagod siya, tuloy pa din paglaban niya,” Yexel said.

Yexel said that as Christmas approaches, all they want is for Jam to get better. Maricar said that for them, they won’t be able to celebrate Christmas that much knowing that Jam is suffering. She said that Jam is set to undergo chemotherapy after the holidays.

Lagi na lang ako nagdadasal na sana magkaroon ng miracle na gumaling ang anak ko pero nandoon pa rin ang faith namin na gagaling siya,” Maricar said.
