Protective Liam Neeson prank-called ‘Taken’ co-star’s ex

MANILA, Philippines – What would you do if you got a scary phone call from ‘Taken’ hero Bryan Mills?

Taken 3 star Maggie Grace, who plays the daughter of ex-CIA operative Bryan Mills, said while guesting on Conan that her ex-boyfriend found out exactly what that was like.  

“There was this boy…I was a little bit heartbroken, and he was kind of a hot mess, and I was telling Liam about it,” she said. 

“He was like, ‘This just can’t be, we have to set this kid straight, what should we do?’ And so we called him at his office!”  

Conan played an audio file on his show, where Liam, as action hero Bryan, was heard saying: “This is Bryan Mills. We’ve never met…and if you play your cards right, we never will. Now listen – bleeped out – You’re lower than the pond scum, so I’m just gonna say this once. You’ve made two mistakes – your first mistake was dating out of your league. Your second mistakes – well – let’s just say I’ll break your other arm – slowly – I don’t need to say it, but I have a particular set of skills. And I don’t want to waste them on you. Now you get your shit together.” 

Maggie was on Conan to promote the latest Taken film, Taken 3. In the movie, Bryan, a retired CIA operative, is on his way to a romantic reconciliation with his ex-wife, Lenore (Famke Janssen) – until he finds that she’s been brutally murdered.

Now framed for her murder, he has to find the real killer and take care of his own daughter Kim, played by Maggie.

Bryan’s speech in the first Taken, said over the phone to his daughter’s captors, has since become a popular internet meme.

In the famous speech, he says: “I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don’t have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that’ll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.”
