RR Enriquez, Jeck Maierhofer apologize for ‘rude’ video

MANILA, Philippines – Hosts of TV5’s Happy Wife Happy Life RR Enriquez and Jeck Maierhofer apologized for a video of them making rounds on the Internet.

The hosts were criticized when a video surfaced of them laughing as RR honked her car horn at a sleeping passenger in the van in front of them. 

The video was posted on the Top Gear Philippines Facebook account and has since caused an uproar on social media.

Jeck Maierhofer released her statement of apology on Sunday, February 8. 

“I sincerely and wholeheartedly apologize for my inappropriate behavior in the video that has offended many. Sana po ay inyong tanggapin ang aking taos pusong paghingi ng tawad sa lahat lalo na po sa mama na nasa loob ng van (I hope that you accept my whole-hearted apology, especially to the ones inside the van).

“This incident has taught me to be more sensitive towards people’s feelings and be more responsible for my actions. Tao lang po ako, hindi po ako perpekto,thank you sa lahat ng nag-message, thank you, (I am human and not perfect, thank you to everyone who sent a message,)” she wrote.

RR said that the bashers should learn to forgive and move on, in her Instagram statement released Monday, February 9, but this can’t be viewed publicly anymore. 

“Happy Morning. This will be the last time that I will post a message regarding sa viral video na yan.I can’t blame these people for sending us negative comments. I actually pity those people na nag [ko]comment nang bad. Dahil hindi lang yan ang nareceive namin, sobrang dami pa as in if you will read their comments parang mas malala pa yung ginawa nila sa ginawa namin. (I actually pity those people who made bad comments. It was not just negatve comments we received but if you look, there are worse things there than what we actually did.)

“Its funny coz if you help people na mga nasalanta ng bagyo, if you feed the street children never nag titrending pero pag mga sex scandal, kurakot scandal kalokohan scandal wala pang 24 hrs trending agad agad. Back in our case ok go push nyo yang mga negative comments nyo na yan. As I said I can’t blame you. But after you comment, check your heart also.. Sino ngayon ang naging bully? Dahil sa mga negative comments nyo na yan sino ngayon ang nagmumukang trashy, uneducated and bully?

(If you help people affected by the typhoon, if you feed street children, it never trends on social media. But mattters like sex scandals, corruption, foolishness, it’s not even 24 hours and it trends immediately. Back in our case, go ahead. Who’s the bully now? Because of all your negative comments, who now appears trashy, uneducated, like bullies?) 

“And sa mga nagmamalinis jan na kung maka condemn ng tao akala mu never gumawa ng kalokohan sa life nila Clap Clap Clap ikaw na ang perfect. Simple kalokohan, malalalang kalokohan in God’s eyes pareparehas lang yan. To those people na nagtatanggol sa amin and naniniwalang we are only human never magiging perfect Thank you. Sa mga bashers relax lang kayo, life is wonderful marami pang pwedeng gawin sa buhay, hindi lang pang ba bash.”

(And for those who are acting high and mighty, who condemn people as if they themselves did not do anything foolish in their lives, clap, clap, clap, you are the perfect one. Simple foolishness in God’s eyes, those are just the same. To those who defended us and believe we are only human and never perfect, thank you. For the bashers, just relax, life is beautiful  and there is so much to do in life.) 

“Yes nagkamali kami and nag sorry na kami so its time to move on. Nakapag move on na yung mga broken hearted and may bago ng kadate sa Valentines so move on din kayo pag may time. Iwasan natin kumain ng madaming ampalaya para hindi tayo maging sobrang bitter sa buhay. On a lighter note, ang dami ko ng na Blocked is Beauty ang sakit pala sa kamay. So I guess ito na ang punishment namin ang mabash ng madaming tao at sumakit ang kamay kaka delete at blocked ng mga bashers lol. Its really a lesson learned.”

(Yes, we made a mistake and we already said sorry so it time to move on. Those who are broken-hearted have moved on and have new dates this Valentine’s Day. If you have time, avoid eating too much ampalaya so you won’t be bitter in life. On a lighter note, I have blocked so many people, that my hands hurt. So I guess this is our punishment with so many people bashing us, that my hands hurt in deleting and blocking bashers, lol, Its really a lesson learned.)

“Try nyo mag blocked and delete ng negative comments ewan ko lang kung di kayo mapagod.Maybe a lot of you nagtataka bakit nakukuha ko pang magpatawa, or mag joke? As I said life is wonderful hindi ko plan stressin ang buhay ko sa mga pagkakamaling nagawa ko.. The key to happy life is to “Get over it” Happy Morning Happy Valentines Share Love,”  RR said.

(Try blocking and deleting negative comments and see if you won’t get tired. Maybe a lot of you find it strange that I can laugh or joke about it? As i said, life is wonderful and I have no plans to be more stressed about the mistakes I made.)

RR also released an earlier statement on her Instagram account and quoted a Bible verse in the process on Sunday, February 8.
