“Actually nakakatakot po. Yung takot na iyon parang na eexcite din ho kasi eto yung pinaka most daring ko and bravest role na binigay sa akin,” Maja told reporters during the press conference for the show at the Dolphy Theater.

(Actually, I was afraid. The fear somehow also excites me also because this my most daring and bravest role that was given to me.)

“Na chachallenge ako kasi na bigyan ng buhay yung character na si Mia Sandoval na kahit star dancer siya, ano yung klaseng story ni Mia at bakit ninyo siya mamahalin?” Maja added.

(I am challenged to give life to the character of Mia Sandoval – even if she is a star dancer, what is her story and why would you love her?)

Maja said that she initially wanted to visit one of the night clubs to see how dancers do it, but got tips from her makeup artist on the show.

“Nag-plano po ako pero nasuwertehan din po. Yung nag-mamakeup sa akin yung makeup artist sa set dati po siyang nagtrabaho sa Pegasus,” Maja said.

(I was planning to go to one [night club] but I was also lucky. The makeup artist assigned to me on the set used to work in Pegasus.)

“Nagtanong na lang po ako ng nagtanong kung ano ba ang buhay ng star dancer pagkatapos. Ano yung mga nangyayari after.”

(I asked around abou the life of a star dancer, what happens after.)

Although she is comfortable with her dancing skills, Maja said her role on the show is a different story. 

Bridges of Love tells the story of brothers Gael (Jericho Rosales) and Carlos (Paulo Avelino), separated by tragedy. Both meet Mia (Maja) who works as a night club dancer, who will bring them together.

Also starring Edu Manzano and Carmina Villaroel, Bridges of Love is directed by Dado Lumibao, Will Fredo, and Richard Somes and will be shown on March 16. –Rappler.com
