MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) hosted the 31st Star Awards for Movies at the The Theater in Solaire Resort & Casino, Parañaque City on Sunday, March 8. (FULL LIST: Winners, Star Awards for movies 2015)

Before the program proper, TV host Robi Domingo announced the winners of the technical awards. He was later joined by Pops Fernandez, Xian Lim, and Kim Chiu for the show.

The awards saw ties in 3 categories – Best Child Performer awards for Miggs Cuaderno for Asintado and Bimby Yap for The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin 2, Gretchen Barretto and Sylvia Sanchez for The Trial, and John Lloyd Cruz and Piolo Pascual for The Trial and Starting Over Again.

Superstar Nora Aunor, who won Movie Actress of The Year for Dementia, thanked her fans for their unending support. She later presented the Ulirang Artista Lifetime Achievement Award named after her to Celia Rodriguez.

GMA 7 broadcast journalist Vicky Morales was given the Darling of the Press Award.

Fresh from their Final 4 stint, The Voice of the Philippines Season 2’s Rence Rapanot, Leah Patricio, Alisah Bonaobra, and grand winner Jason Dy performed songs from the nominated Movies of The Year. Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo(mainstream), and The Janitor (indie) won in those categories.

To close the show, TV host-actress Toni Gonzaga also took time from her schedule to perform a song, which was met by enthusiam from her fans present at the event.
