MANILA, Philippines – Celebrity friends and guests gathered for debutante Julia Barretto’s 18th birthday party at the Makati Shangri-la Tuesday, March 10. (IN PHOTOS : Julia Barretto preps for grand debut)

Among those who attended were Enchong Dee, Daniel Padilla, Kathryn Bernardo, Iza Calzado, Kim Chiu, Miss World 2013 Megan Young, and Erich Gonzales.

Also seen were TV journalist Karen Davila and lawyer Lorna Kapunan.

Iñigo Pascual served as Julia’s escort for the night.

Also in attendance was Julia’s father, Dennis Padilla. Matteo Guidicelli and Robi Domingo served as hosts. 

Julia’s 19 candles are: Dani Barretto, Claudia Barretto, Patita Tumpalan, Erich Gonzales, Alora Sasam, Natalia Ortega, Nicole Barretto, Cris Navarro, Marissa Kalaw, Pokwang, RB Chanco, Lala Flores, Denise Heredia, Coy Barretto, Ella Pangilinan, Liz Uy, Janella Salvador, Liza Soberano and Maja Salvador. 

As to why 19  candles, Julia said it someone might not be able to make it.

Her 18 roses meanwhile are: Dennis Padilla, Matteo Guidicelli, Rayver Cruz, Enchong Dee, Khalil Ramos, Robi Domingo, Sam Concepcion, Dominic Roque, Leon Barretto, Mark Barretto,John Barretto, Cholo Barretto, Jason Soong, Mark Soong, Miguel Barretto, John Sweet Lapus, Enrique Gil and Iñigo Pascual.

The party is a big day for Julia, who, as part of the famous Barretto family, is part of showbiz royalty. (READ: All eyes on Julia, Barretto family for grand debut)

During a press conference for her debut, Julia said she was optimistic about an improvement in the relationships between her family members. 

“I can’t force anything to happen. Parang hindi naman tama na magpilit ng tao. It’s my special day, I want everybody to be there. If that’s the reason kung bakit magkakaayos ang lahat, then good,” she said.

(It’s not right to force people. It’s my special day, I want everybody to be there. If that’s the reason why some things will be ironed out, then good.) 

There’s a long-running estrangement between Julia’s aunt Claudine and Julia’s mom Marjorie, and aunt Gretchen. But everyone seems determined to make this day special for Julia, who turned 18 March 10, and will also graduate from high school later this month. –Rappler.com
