Recovering Jolo Revilla celebrates 27th birthday
‘I am now on the road towards my fullest recovery,’ say Jolo

MANILA, Philippines – One week after he was discharged from the hospital, Cavite Vice Governor Jolo Revilla quietly celebrated his 27th birthday with family and closest friends Sunday, March 15, thanking God for a “second lease” on life.

Jolo posted his thank you message on Facebook.

“As I celebrate my 27th birthday, I share it with everyone, along with all the blessings our Lord God Father Almighty has granted me on this special day of my life. I thank Him for having given me a second lease on life and for entrusting me with whatever mission He has for me here on earth. I thank my family, relatives, friends, fans and constituents in the Province of Cavite and everyone who prayed and who continue to pray for my recovery.

“Thank you too for the support that our people of the Province of Cavite continue to bestow on my leadership as Vice Governor of our beloved province. I am happy to inform you that I am now on the road towards my fullest recovery and hopefully, I can be with you physically in 30-60 days, at the latest. You are all my source of strength and inspiration to continue serving our people. Maraming, maraming salamat po muli and God bless us all!” Jolo said.

Jolo’s girlfriend actress Jodi Sta. Maria was present, as well as his son. According to a report from Pep, it was Jodi who would take care of him through his recovery, especially with his medicine.

In the same Pep report, Cavite Congresswoman Lani Mercado, Jolo’s mother said that she prayed for positivity despite what her husband Sen. Bong Revilla is going through, and her son’s condition.

“We may go into battles at this time in our lives, but what people sees in us are remarkable things. Successful in the battles that we foresee.

“We are given peace, we are given Shalom despite the situation that Sen. Bong is in right now, despite the situation that Jolo is in right now.

“Probably we would like to ask God also to provide us not just the gift of positivity but a gift of Shalom; because it is only in peace that we can create positivity in our hearts and in our minds, so that our thoughts and our actions would be parallel to each other.”

On February 28, Jolo suffered a gun shot wound after he accidentally pulled the trigger of his gun, while cleaning it.

Jolo’s father Sen. Bong Revilla was granted permission by the Sandiganbayan to visit his son 3 days after he was confined. The senator is detained at the Camp Crame over plunder and graft charges in connection with the pork barrel scam. – Rappler.com
