WATCH: Karla Estrada as Chaka Khan in ‘Your Face Sounds Familiar’
Karla wins in the second week of the show and donates the money to Child Haus

MANILA, Philippines– Teen actor Daniel Padilla’s mom, actress Karla Estrada, won in the second week of Your Face Sounds Familiar, impersonating Chaka Khan and performing the song “Through the Fire.”

Karla won P100,000, which she said she will donate to Child Haus.

“We have been helping na matagal na. Until now, isa ako sa mga tumutulong. Tumutulong kaming dalawa ni Daniel,” Karla said. (We been helping them for a while. Until now, I am one of those who help. Daniel and I help them.)

During her performance, Sharon Cuneta, one of the jurors in the show said: “Chakang-chaka in a good way.”

“Kuya Gary (Valenciano) said kanina na it’s not really a singing contest pero when you have an artist like Chaka Khan, naturally malaking factor ‘yung voice… You pinned it,” Sharon said.

Karla joked that she has a high voice because she’s already given birth to 4 kids.

Gary Valenciano said that Karla turned herself into Karla Khan.

“Tonight it’s Karla Khan, because you can do it. You really can do it and you did it really well.”

Alam naman ng lahat na ‘yung last part ng kanta na ‘yon, ‘yon yung pinaka-crucial kaya dun ko pinasok ‘yung Karla Khan,” Gary added. (We all know the last part of the song is the crucial and that where Karla Khan entered.)

When Gary asked if Daniel was able to watch the first week of the show where Karla impersonated Sharon, Karla said yes.

Sabi niya, ‘Ma nakakahiya kay Tita Sharon.’” Karla explained. (He said, ‘Ma, it’s really embarrassing to Tita Sharon.)

Hindi pa tapos yung kanta ko anak. Panoorin mo nga muna. Tuwang-tuwa sila maniwala ka,” she added. (The song is not yet finished son. Watch it first. They are very happy, believe me.)

Singer Jed Madela also praised Karla for her interpretation of the song.

“This song is one of the most difficult songs kaya we were really looking forward to the high note,”  Jed said. ”When you did it flawlessly, napatayo ako. (I really stood up.)”

This is not the first time Karla participated in a reality show. She previously auditioned for The Voice of the Philippines Season 2, but did not make it past the blind audition. – Rappler.com
