Angelina Jolie to kids at Nickelodeon awards: ‘Different is good’
Angelina makes a surprise appearance at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards with daughters Shiloh and Zahara

MANILA, Philippines – She may have played the misunderstood, complex Maleficent in the hit movie, but at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards on March 28, Angelina Jolie had a ball in her best role yet – super mom.

Seated with young daughters Zaharah and Shiloh, Angelina celebrated with the girls when she won the Favorite Villain award forMaleficent in a flurry of hugs and excited gasps. (FULL LIST: Winners, 2015 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards)

She went up onstage to deliver a short, inspiring, and fabulous speech for the kids who were listening:

“Thank you so much to all the kids who voted. I wanna say that when I was little, like Maleficent, I was told that I was different. And I felt out of place, and too loud, too full of fire, never good at sitting still, never good at fitting in. And then one day I realized something, something I hope you all realize. Different is good.

So, don’t fit in. Don’t sit still. Don’t ever try to do less than you are. When somebody tells you you’re different, smile and hold your head up high and be proud. And as your villain, I would also say – cause a little trouble. It’s good for you.”

This comes after Angelina’s most recent announcement that she had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed after results from a blood test raised the possibility that she might be in the early stages of cancer. Angelina has lost family, including her mother, to cancer.

It’s so good to see Angelina out and about, enjoying her life with her kids! No doubt, we’ll see her soon in her upcoming projects, too, including the new movie By the Sea, co-starring husband Brad Pitt. – Rappler.com
