TV5 launches new entertainment show ‘Showbiz Konek na Konek’
MANILA, Philippines – TV5 is giving morning viewers their daily dose of showbiz news with the launch of its new show Showbiz Konek na Konek, which premiered April 6, 11 am.
Hosted by IC Mendoza, Bianca King and MJ Marfori, Showbiz Konek na Konek aims to bring the latest news with the use of social media through segments such Trending 5, Eksena Round-Up, and Guess Who? Aside from the news, each of the hosts will have his own segment.
At the press conference of the show Monday, April 6, IC said: “It’s going to be different kasi isa na rin ako sa mga mag-spearhead ng show. Hindi lang ako host dito. Open din sila (production staff) sa mga suggestions ko pagdating sa mga stories and how to promote the show,” he said.
(It's going to be different because I am one of those who will spearhead the show. I am not just a host. They [production staff] are open to my suggestions when it comes to stories and how to promote the show.)
IC also said he was really sad when he found out that ABS-CBN’s entertainment show The Buzz was taking a break. IC’s mom Dolly Anne Carvajal was part of the show in its early years.
“It’s the end of an era talaga. Kasi The Buzz was really a staple in showbiz reporting. Lalo na with si (Especially) Tito Boy and Kris Aquino and Toni G, Nay Cristy (Fermin) was also part of it. It’s really an end of an era and ma-mimiss natin talaga ang Buzz (and we will miss The Buzz)," IC said.
Showbiz Konek na Konek airs Monday to Friday, 11 am. – Rappler.com
