Caitlyn Jenner gives emotional speech at 2015 ESPY Awards

MANILA, Philippines – Caitlyn Jenner gave an emotional speech as she accepted her Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the 2015 Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Awards (ESPY) on July 15.

Caitlyn, formerly known as Bruce Jenner, and who is a former Olympian, talked about how she plans to move forward when it comes to “reshaping the landscape of how trans issues are viewed” and accepting people for who they are.

An emotional moment came when Caitlyn thanked her family, kids, and mom for their support through her transition. Caitlyn’s mom, who recently went through a life-threatening surgery, was in the audience, clapping with the crowd.

“I always thought i got my courage and my determination from my dad… but you know what im realizing now, mom? I think i got all those qualities from you,” said Caitlyn.

Even Caitlyn’s daughter Kendall Jenner, who was seated beside her sister Kylie and stepsisters Kourtney, Kim and Khloe Kardashian, was seen tearing up.

Kylie sent out this tweet the next day:
