MANILA, Philippines – Brie Larson won the Best Actress award at the 2016 Oscars, held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, California Sunday night, February 28 (the 29th in Manila). Brie won for her work in Room.

In Room, Brie Larson plays a young mother who is held captive with her 5-year-old son Jack (Jacob Tremblay) for several years in a shed they call “Room.” “Ma” tries to create a semblance of a normal life for the boy who has only known “Room” as the real world.
