
MANILA, Philippines – Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc (BPCI) is calling all Filipino fashion designers to send in their creative sketches for national costumes.
On Facebook, the pageant announced that the designs should be submitted on or before September 15. Designs will be judged by Bb Pilipinas chairperson Stella Marquez Araneta, Mrs. Conchitina Bernardo, ABS-CBN’s Chit Guerrero, fashion designer Christian Espiritu and Philippine Daily Inquirer’s Thelma San Juan.
The chosen designs will be worn by the Bb Pilipinas beauty queens in their respective international competitions.

The costume, a floral piece reportedly inspired by the Panagbenga Festival of Baguio, got negative reviews from social media users and many pageant fan.
Following the uproar, Bb Pilipinas issued a statement saying that they were open to collaborating with Filipino designers. – Rappler.com
