
MANILA, Philippines – Staying true to her campaign to raise awareness and proper education about HIV/AIDS, Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach recently had herself tested in a clinic in New York.
In photos posted by APICHA Health Community Center on Twitter, Pia was seen getting tested by the medical officers to promote National HIV Testing Day. According to the Apicha blog, Pia has been an ambassador for the community health center since winning Miss Universe.

At the gathering, Pia talked about the importance of getting tested.
“National HIV Testing Day is a reminder to get tested, and take care of not only your health, but your love ones’ health, too. It is important to know the facts, and be proactive about protecting yourself, your partners and your community,” she said, adding that getting tested is painless and confidential.
