MANILA, Philippines – Classified ads website Sulit.com.ph said Saturday, December 1, that their domain registry was hacked, causing the site to be unavailable for several hours.
“Someone hacked through our account in our domain registry and changed the details of our domain Sulit.com.ph,” the website announced on its official page on Facebook on Saturday afternoon.
“Unfortunately, we do not have control over the security of our domain’s registry. Our team has already made the necessary changes and we’re now waiting for the correct domain information to propagate globally,” it said.
Many of the site’s visitors reported that the site is still down as of Sunday morning, December 2. Some, however, reported that they have already been able to access the site.
Sulit.com.ph is currently the Philippines’ most popular website, and bills itself as the go-to site for Filipinos to buy and sell online, from clothes to real estate. – Rappler.com
