MANILA, Philippines – It seems Zynga’s cost-cutting efforts are going to hit a lot of casual gamers this season. Techcrunch reports that 11 of the company’s titles have either been shut down, pulled from app stores, or otherwise slated for culling in the coming weeks.

As Rappler reported on November 5, Zynga made it known that it was reducing its workforce by 5%, shutting down some games in the process. What started as closure announcements for FishVille and Treasure Isle have become a death knell for multiple titles across the browser and mobile platforms.

Techcrunch’s list of the games being shuttered and the timeframe for their closure are as follows:

PetVille – Shut down December 30th
Mafia Wars 2 – Shut down December 30th
FishVille – Shut down December 5th
Vampire Wars – Shut down December 5th
Treasure Isle – Shut down December 5th
Indiana Jones Adventure World – Closed to new players, shuts down January 14th
Mafia Wars Shakedown – Pulled from app stores
Forestville – Pulled from app stores
Montopia – Shut down December 21st
Mojitomo – Pulled from app stores
Word Scramble Challenge – Pulled from app stores

Zynga still has more than 30 titles online for people to try out through their browser or on Android and iOS, though that may be little consolation for the now-displaced gamers looking for a new game to call home. – Rappler.com
