MANILA, Philippines – The 2013 Miss Universe Preliminary Competition last Tuesday evening, November 5 (Wednesday morning, November 6, Philippine time), had two parts: first, swimwear, and second, evening gown.

The event was held in Crocus City Hall in Moscow, Russia, where the November 9 (November 10, Philippine time) coronation night will also be held. 

The program was simple: the opening saw all contestans introducing themselves in batches. It was immediately followed by the swimwear competition. Sponsor videos were played during the intermission while the candidates changed into their evening gowns, after which the evening gown competition went underway.

Towards the end of the program, Miss Nicaragua Nastassja Bolivar was awarded Best in National Costume. The National Costume competition was held last November 3 (November 4, Philippine time) at Vegas Mall. (Read: Ariella Arida competes in National Costume at Miss Universe 2013)
