An all-female selection committee will be deciding who wins the upcoming pageant

The Miss Universe organization revealed the all-female selection committee for the upcoming pageant, with former titleholders Brook Lee and Zuleyka Rivera among them.

Brook won the Miss Universe crown in 1997 representing the United States, while Zuleyka Rivera took the title for Puerto Rico in 2006.

They will be joined on the selection committee by 6 other women: Carnival Cruise Line president Christine Duffy, beauty entrepreneur Deepica Mutyala, economist Tatyana Orozco, author and TV personality Keltie Knight, Mary Kay marketing chief Sheryl Adkins-Green, and Teen Wolf actress Arden Cho.

The panel will select the winner of the 69th Miss Universe pageant, which will name the 2020 Miss Universe queen.

The title is currently held by Zozibini Tunzi, who was crowned in 2019, and has held the title longer than anyone after the 2020 pageant was scrapped due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Rabiya Mateo will represent the Philippines in the competition, after being crowned Miss Universe Philippines in October 2020.

The pageant will be held in Florida on May 16 (May 17, Manila time), and will be aired live at 8 am on the A2Z channel, iWantTFC, and on Lazada. – Rappler.com
