Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados will crown her successor in Baguio City on October 25.
Speaking to Rappler contributor Voltaire Tayag on Monday, October 19, the beauty queen said she was "speechless" to find out she got approval to participate in the pageant.
“Speechless! I have always envisioned not only winning the title but also being able to pass on my crown to my successor. A legacy of the Miss Universe Philippines at the Miss Universe pageant in the last decade has truly made the country proud. Without you and Bb. Pilipinas, this would have never become possible," she said.
"I'm immensely grateful for my wonderful reign and now that it has come full circle. I'm so excited to meet all the ladies representing their respective provinces.”
Asked what would be the first thing she would tell her successor, she said: “Welcome to the sisterhood. Own it! Breathe, walk, and talk like a Queen! The universe is you and you are the universe.”
Gazini’s participation ends speculations over whether she will be allowed to participate in the pageant, which is now under Shamcey Supsup’s group.
The Cebuana beauty queen was the last candidate crowned by Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc's Bb Pilipinas pageant before the Philippines franchise was transferred to the new organization.
