Philippine bet Maureen Montagne has just been crowned the new Miss Globe 2021.
The 28-year-old Filipina beauty queen from Batangas took home the title at the Miss Globe 2021 coronation night at the Opera Theater in Tirana, Albania, on Saturday morning, November 6 (Philippine time).
Nigeria’s bet Esther Gabriel was first runner-up, Turkey’s Melike Bali was second runner-up, Venezuela’s Jhosskaren Carrizo Smiler was third runner-up, and Canada’s Hailey Hamelin-Wilson was fourth runner-up.
The Binibining Pilipinas Charity Incorporated organization congratulated Maureen on her win, saying that BPCI “never doubted that [she] will represent our country so well internationally.”
Maureen shone throughout the competition – for the swimsuit segment, she strutted in a sleek black-and-white two-piece bikini, and for the evening gown competition, she wowed audiences with her form-fitting gold gown.
For the pre-pageant National Costume competition, Maureen donned an intricately-designed “Sampaguita” costume by Filipino fashion designer Patrick Isorena.
Maureen also placed first runner-up in the People’s Choice, Miss Bikini, and Head to Head Challenge pre-pageant competitions.
The last Filipina to win the crown is Ann Lorraine Colis, in 2015. In 2020, Philippine candidate Rowena Sasaluya was fourth runner-up and won the People’s Choice Award.
Maureen was crowned Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2021 at the Araneta Coliseum on July 11. In 2019, she also bagged the first runner-up title in the Miss Eco International pageant.
