After a yearlong wait, the Binibinis of 2020 and 2021 are finally ready for their finals night.
This year’s pageant is one for the books – 40 women were announced as official candidates in February 2020, almost a month before lockdowns were imposed to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Several candidates have since pulled out due to different reasons – from hitting the international pageant age limit, joining (and placing in) international pageants, and work considerations.
It’s been a long and winding road. But as one of the candidates told us, there’s really no other place they’d rather be.
Ahead of the last postponement in April, Rappler joined most of the candidates backstage for one of their shoots that jumpstarted their 2021 activities. COVID-19 protocols were strictly followed for the shoot – for both the contestants, the glam teams, and those behind the scenes.
The Binibining Pilipinas 2021 coronation night happens on Sunday, July 11, at 9:30 pm at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
The pageant will be aired on A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, and Metro Channel, and will be livestreamed on iWantTFC and the official Binibining Pilipinas YouTube Channel. – Rappler.com
