Ahead of the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 coronation night, the reigning queens wow in a reunion shoot

The Miss Universe Philippines (MUP) 2020 queens are showstoppers in their neon-inspired shoot!

On Tuesday, September 15, MUP posted a series of photos featuring the reigning queens in their neon swimsuits with colorful jeepney signages as their background.

Present in the shoot were Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo, 1st runner-up Bella Ysmael, 2nd runner-up Michele Gumabao, 3rd runner-up Pauline Amelinckx, and 4th runner-up Billie Hakenson.

“Another day to slay as we get closer to meeting the successors of our phenomenal queens,” the organization wrote in the caption. “Excited? We are, too. But for now, NEON.”

Aside from group photos, individual snaps of the reigning queens were also released.

Michele also uploaded the photos on her Instagram profile, saying that the shoot marks the “beginning [of] the countdown to coronation night.”

The reigning queens are from the inaugural batch of the national pageant, which had its first edition last September 2020. The MUP organization is headed by Shamcey Supsup and Jonas Gaffud. In previous years, the country’s Miss Universe delegates were named through the Binibining Pilipinas pageant.

Rabiya, who finished her pageant journey in the Top 21, is set to crown her successor. The Miss Universe Philippines 2021 coronation night is set for September 25.

Out of the initial 100 delegates and after a series of virtual challenges, only the top 30 candidates were chosen to compete in the pageant night. As of Monday, September 13, the top 30 candidates have entered the pageant bubble to start their pre-pageant activities.  – Rappler.com
