LOOK: Miss Universe PH 2021 top 30 candidates don official sashes

The top 30 candidates of Miss Universe Philippines 2021 proudly showed off their respective pageant sashes as day one of their pageant bubble began.

On Monday, September 13, the candidates took to their social media accounts to share their experiences of meeting the other candidates, their excitement for the upcoming pageant activities, and their happiness in finally wearing the official sashes of their respective hometowns. 

The top 30 were chosen out of the original 100 delegates, after a series of virtual challenges. Zambales representative Joanna Maria Rabe announced on Monday that she’s withdrawing from the competition due to dengue. 

Here are the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 top 30 wearing their sashes for the first time: 

Grace Charmaine Banua Vendiola, Negros Occidental

“This dream was put on hold for some time, but this time it is really happening. This will allow me to carry you with love and pride for the country,” Vendiola wrote in the caption.

Vincy Labadan Vacalares, Cagayan de Oro City

Vacalares said, “FINALLY! After all the hurdles, today officially marks my #DayOne as part of the Top 30 official candidates for Miss Universe Philippines 2021.”

Noelyn Rose Mabuhay Campos, Antique

Campos said that she has “always dreamt of this.” 

Rousanne Marie Bernos, San Juan City

Bernos shared that it's the day she "brought [her] application letter to life."

Maria Corazon Abalos, Mandaluyong

"Pageant night is just around the corner and I still can't believe I'm actually living my childhood dream," wrote Abalos.

Janela Joy Cuaton, Albay

Cuaton said that she will “be eternally grateful” and “will cherish this moment forever.” 

Kheshapornam Ramachandran, Iloilo City

Ramachandran said she "can't wait" to shout her name at the Miss Universe Philippines stage.

Maria Ingrid Teresita Santamaria, Parañaque

"The stars have aligned! We are checked in and ready to go," Santamaria wrote in the caption.

Izabella Jasmine Umali, Manila

Umali said, “Beaming with pride as I emblazon the city I love over my heart.”

Maureen Christa Wroblewitz, Pangasinan

Wroblewitz admitted that it still feels like a dream, “I am glad that I’ve made that decision because I was able to meet so many incredible, talented and passionate individuals.”

Princess Kristha Singh, Pasig

Singh shared that it's a "surreal feeling" wearing the official pageant sash. "Here we are pursuing our dreams."

Jedidah Hefervez Korinihona, Davao del Sur

Kornihona simply wrote, "Oh hello there, Miss Davao del Sur."

Jan Louis Abejero, Reina Mercedes Isabela

Abejero said she was grateful that her dream came true, “I will forever treasure every moment granted to me in the coming days, just as I do every milestone that has led me here.”

Leren Mae Bautista, Laguna

Bautista captioned her post with the hashtag #LeLetsMakeItHappen.

Jane Nicole Miñano, Romblon

Miñano introduced herself as the official representative to the pageant of the province of Romblon.

Michelle Angela Navaro Okol, Siargao Island

“I try to be as calm as I can while wearing it, but the second picture is proof of how much I can’t contain the joy and excitement from finally pursuing one of my childhood dreams,” she said.

Megan Julia Roa Digal, Bukidnon

"So stoked to be the FIRST ever to represent Bukidnon in the [Miss Universe Philippines]," said Digal.

Beatricia Luigi Gomez, Cebu City

Gomez said that she teared up after wearing the official sash, “I have been in a dreamlike state of bliss in the past few hours until I finally slid the sash on, tears came rushing inevitably as I fixed it to cling into my dress.” 

Kristen Danielle Delavin, Masbate

Delavin updated her supporters that she’s already locked in for the pageant, “We are getting closer and closer!”

Victoria Velasquez Vincent, Cavite

"Whenever people ask me what the one thing is I’m most excited about for Miss Universe Philippines, I always say the same thing - wearing my beloved Cavite across my chest," wrote Vincent.

Chella Grace Falconer, Misamis Oriental

Falconer revealed that she never thought her dream of competing in the pageant would come true, “This sash across my heart fuels me to be the bravest version of myself.”

Katrina Dimaranan, Taguig

Dimaranan said, “This sash represents the city I love, the people of Taguig, my core team, and my journey in the Miss Universe Philippines pageant, and I am in deep emotions and pride to wear to this sash!”

Christelle Abello, Aklan

“Thank you so much for believing in me since the very beginning and allowing me to proudly represent our beloved province for the second time in a row,” Abello wrote.

Mirjan Hipolito, Angeles City

Hipolito said, “First time to wear our official sash today. I am happy to finally be able to carry Angeles City wherever I go now.”

Isabelle De Los Santos, Makati

De Los Santos said she hyped herself up after wearing the official sash, “I can’t wait to enjoy this journey and take you with me, Makati!”

Simone Nadine Bornilla, Marinduque

"Marinduque, I’m grateful to be having this opportunity to proudly wear you across my heart," Bornilla said.

Steffi Rose Aberasturi, Cebu Province

Aberasturi revealed how excited she is to meet her fellow candidates, “This is going to be quite an adventure and with the sisterhood, new formed friendships and with the guidance of Sto. Niño, I'm sure this life changing experience is gonna be one for the books.”

Davao City’s Ybonne Ortega and Davao Occidental’s Krizzaleen Mae Valencia have yet to post a photo with their official pageant sash. 

The candidates have entered the pageant bubble as a safety measure ahead of their pre-pageant activities. The preliminary question and answer portion is scheduled on September 21, while the swimsuit and evening gown competition will happen on September 23.

The Miss Universe Philippines 2021 coronation night is set for September 25. 

Reigning queen Rabiya Mateo, who finished her pageant journey in the Top 21, is set to crown her successor. The winner will represent the country in the international pageant to be held in Israel in December. – Rappler.com
