In between conversations, Boy also gave pointers as the queens prepare for their respective international pageants.

Here are some excerpts from the interview:

How it feels to be beautiful

Resham Saeed: I think beauty is a lot tougher than people think. I mean of course as much we would like [to day] we woke up like this, we didn’t and a huge part of it is like knowing what’s good on you. So you try to accentuate your best features are.

Diversity in Philippine pageantry

Emma Tiglao: Beauty queens before [had] natural makeup. Now we have different experiments on makeup and hairstyles. And also hindi na siya (it's not) pageant patty. It’s more on your personality.

Doing your makeup, working with the backstage makeup artist

Patch Magtanong: Throughout the whole competition, we were taught to develop a healthy and good relationship with the makeup artist. Cause it’s a collaboration. So if you don’t like the way they did your eyeliner or your blush or whatever, you can say politely like 'mumsh, padagdag naman po (please add a bit).. and they are fine with that. They are completely fine with that they want you to shine it’s your night and you just have to say it in a nice way.

What happens backstage

Leren Bautista: I think the secret for this kind of chaotic situation is just you being calm and focus on what you’re going to do next.

The Top 15

Gazini Ganados: I was hoping and praying. I was not that sure but I am pretty sure that I enjoyed the moment inch of it.

Prepping for the question and answer segment onstage

Samantha Lo: I had a panic attack. I'm like prone to them and Emma was calming me all the time. My heart beats to my chest, my hands get sweaty, like my vision gets a little bit [blurry]. But luckily I was like: Emma, talk to me, tell me how was your night.

Answering their Q and A

Patch Magtanong: Actually walking away, I didn't think it was that good because to be honest, I had prepared for a question like this because it's a common pageant question. I thought of people like Ruth Bader Ginsburg who's is a female justice of the United States or somebody like Obama or even past beauty queens like Anna Theresa Licaros. So I had those in my head. But at the moment, I chose to say Angelina Jolie even though I didn't think about her in the beginning. Because the night before coronation, Catriona [Gray] came to talk to us and she gave advice on how to answer Q and A. And she said to speak from your heart, to say things that you know and you'll never be lost in Q and A.
