The event was organized by Google Philippines.
The lyrics of "Miss Ko Na" were crowdsourced from people all over the world. Google asked the question, "Anong namimiss mo sa Pilipinas?" (What do you miss about the Philippines?) on their social media accounts. The musicians then put the answers together to compose the song.
Equal turns cheery and bittersweet, the song and its accompanying video highlights the experience of loved ones who miss home.
Pinoys everywhere will recognize specific experiences that are uniquely Filipino.
(I miss eating tapsilog with Kuya, I miss everyone eating together when Lola cooks. I don't miss the EDSA traffic, I don't miss wading through the floodwaters. I don't miss sudden brownouts...but when I think of it, I just miss you.)
