MANILA, Philippines - Piolo's son is following in the footsteps of his famous dad.
Actor Piolo Pascual confirmed that his son Iñigo auditioned for a US boy band and is looking into a showbiz career.
“International, not bad di ba? (International, not bad right?) So they’re going to house them, teach them so he’ll get free lessons for voice, for acting, for dancing,” Piolo said in an interview with ABS-CBN.
Although he was hesitant about his son joining showbiz, Piolo said he finally allowed him to go for it. His only condition, he said was for Iñigo to finish high school.
Piolo also said that he wants him to be based in the US first.
“I was hoping that he’ll make a name for himself in the States first, so he won’t have to be in my shadow. People won’t have to compare himself to me,” he said.
Aside from auditioning in the US, Iñigo has reportedly finished an indie movie and has also appeared in a commercial with his dad.
Iñigo also opened a YouTube account, where he shares video blogs and singing cover songs such as Michael Jackson's "Beat It" with his friend Levi Mitchell.
Piolo is set to return to primetime television via the new show Hawak Kamay starting July 21. –Rappler.com
