WATCH: Daniel Padilla, Kathryn Bernardo in ‘2 Good 2 Be True’ first teaser

MANILA, Philippines – KathNiel fans, the long wait is almost over as Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla are set to return to the small screen with their highly-anticipated teleserye 2 Good 2 Be True. 

ABS-CBN’s RGE Unit released a 45-second teaser on Sunday, December 19, giving fans a first look at Kathryn and Daniel’s characters in the series. 

The video sees the real-life couple glammed up when they meet in what appears to be a hotel lobby. The next scene shows them in a different setting, where Daniel’s character teases Kathryn to not blame him if she falls in love with him. 

“The country’s premier love team is back in a Mae Cruz-Alviar primetime teleserye! 2 Good 2 Be True, coming soon,” they captioned the post. 

2 Good 2 Be True serves as the first KathNiel teleserye in four years after 2017’s La Luna Sangre. The two previously announced that they personally chose the romantic-comedy genre for this project. 

Kathryn said, “With the help of the whole production team and director Mae [Alviar], sinabi talaga namin ni DJ na gusto talaga namin na gumawa ng isang rom-com (DJ and I insisted on doing a rom-com).

Daniel added, “Nakagawa na kaming lahat nang isang magandang proyekto, isang magandang script kaya excitement na lang talaga ang nararamdaman ko ngayon kasi it’s been a while (We were all able to create a great project, a great script, so all I feel now is excitement, since it’s been a while).”

Joining Kathryn and Daniel in the series are Ronaldo Valdez, Gloria Diaz, Irma Adlawan, Gelli de Belen, Romnick Sarmenta, Cris Villanueva, Smokey Manaloto, Matt Evans, Jenny Miller, Yves Flores, Pamu Pamorada, Gillian Vicencio, Kristel Fulgar, Bianca de Vera, and Alyssa Muhlach.

A final premiere date for 2 Good 2 Be True has yet to be announced.  

Kathryn and Daniel last starred in the digital movie series The House Arrest of Us which aired from October 2020 to January 2021. They also recently released a 90-minute documentary to mark their 10th anniversary as a love team.  – Rappler.com
