The 'Friends' cast will be shooting for the highly-anticipated reunion special 'in a little over a month'

Actor David Schwimmer, who played paleontologist Ross Geller in the hit American sitcom Friends, confirmed on Wednesday, March 3, that the main Friends cast will finally reunite for the HBO Max special.

According to an interview on Andy Cohen’s Radio Andy Show, Schwimmer said that the special “is happening” and shooting will happen “in a little over a month.”

“I’m heading out to LA. So, finally, I mean, we figured out a way to film it safely, and there’s going to be a portion of it that we filmed outside because of, you know, for safety protocols,” he said.

Cohen also asked if Ellen DeGeneres will host the reunion special, but Schwimmer replied: “I don’t know if I can say who. It’s not Ellen [DeGeneres], it’s not Billy Crystal. I could tell you who it’s not.”

Lisa Kudrow, who played Phoebe Buffay in the sitcom, had also appeared on Rob Lowe’s podcast in January and mentioned that she had already shot a scene for the HBO Max special.

The reunion was first announced in February 2020 by HBO Max and was originally set to air in the US in May 2020. The shooting, however, was postponed multiple times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. – with reports from Jewel Camacho/Rappler.com
