GMA-7 unveiled the case of the Voltes V: Legacy cast through a series of announcements over the station’s flagship news program 24 Oras.

Mark Gordon plays Radson Flores. Mark was part of the reality show Starstruck in 2019. Radson also appeared in GMA shows such as Pepito Manaloto and Dear Uge.

In Voltes V: Legacy, Mark pilots the Volt Bomber and is known to be a good horseback rider.

Big Bert Armstrong will be played by singer-songwriter Matt Lozano. Matt first gained prominence as the winner of the “Spogify featuring Singing Baes” segment of Eat Bulaga.

Big Bert is the second eldest of the Armstrong brothers and pilots the Volt Panzer.

Playing Little Jon Armstrong is Raphael Landicho. Raphael is known for his role as Ethan, the son of Jessie (Max Collins) and Brylle Alejandro (Jason Abalos), in the 2019 teleserye Bihag.

In the show, Little Jon is the youngest of the Armstrong brothers and is considered by many as young genius. He pilots the Volt Frigate.

Miguel Tanfelix plays Steve. A product of Starstruck Kids, Miguel starred in several GMA shows including Sahaya, Kambal Karibal, and the Mulawin series, where he played the role of Pagaspas.

Steve is the eldest of the 3 Armstrong brothers and the leader of the Voltes V team. In the series, he is a motocross champion and marksman. He pilots the Volt Cruiser, which serves as the head of Voltes V.

Giving life to Jamie Robinson, the lone female member of the team, is Ysabel Ortega. Ysabel is the daughter of former actress-singer Michelle Ortega and senator Lito Lapid. She is known for playing Charlie in the ABS-CBN show Pusong Ligaw. In 2019, she moved to GMA.

In the Voltes V storyline, Jamie comes from a line of ninjas and is the daughter of Commander Robinson, who has assisted the Voltes V team on several occasions. She is also known as the “voice of reason” among the boys, especially when Mark and Steve clash.

Jamie pilots the Volt Lander, which serve as the feet of the assembled Voltes V.

Martin del Rosario will play Prince Zardoz, Voltes V’s main enemy, who leads Boazania’s invasion on Earth at the beginning of the show.

Martin has starred in many teleseryes both in ABS-CBN and GMA. His roles include Barbie in Born Beautiful and Daniel Panti in The Panti Sisters. He also won a Gawad Urian for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the Cinemalaya film Dagitab.

Meanwhile, giving life to Zandra is Liezel Lopez. A contestant of Starstruck Season 6, Liezel has appeared in shows such as Bubble GangOnanay, and The Stepdaughers.

In the story, Zandra is one of Zardoz’s aides and advisers. She has stood by Zardoz in his struggles as the leader of Boazania, and even took a bullet for him, saving his life.

Epy Quizon and Carlo Gonzales are set to play Zuhl and Draco, respectively.

Epy is known for his versatility, having played a range of roles, from Apolinario Mabini in Heneral Luna and Goyo to the young Markova in Markova: Comfort Gay.

“This is unique because it’s from my childhood,” Epy said of the role.

Nilalaro ko yung Voltes V (I use to play Voltes V). So to be part of Voltes V: Legacy is not just an honor… bumalik yung pagkabata ko (I get. to revisit my childhood).”

Carlo, meanwhile, is best known for playing Muros in the 2016 retelling of Encantadia. He’s also appeared in several GMA shows.

Gabby Eigenmann will play Commander Robinson, Jamie’s father. The actor has starred in shows like The Lost Recipe and Bilangin Ang Bituin sa Langit

Neil Ryan Sese, meanwhile, will play Dr Hook, one of the lead scientists who will guide the team. Neil has appeared in The Half Sisters, Onanay, and Descendants of the Sun. He’s also part of the afternoon soap Babawiin Ko Ang Lahat, which is set to premiere on February 22.

GMA first gave a sneak peek into the live-action series during its 2020 New Year’s Eve countdown. Another teaser was released in January, this time giving a glimpse of the Boazanian empire attacking Earth.

Mark Reyes, who directed Encantadia, Mystified, and Beautiful Justice, is the director of the project.

Voltes V: Legacy is based on the Chōdenji Machine Voltes V series, a Japanese anime that aired in parts of the world in the ’70s. The show was a hit in the Philippines and had been aired several times, both in English and Filipino.

GMA has yet to announce Voltes V: Legacy‘s airing date. – Rappler.com
