Lovi Poe and Piolo Pascual are teaming up for the upcoming Philippine adaptation of the hit K-drama Flower of Evil.

Dreamscape Entertainment head Deo Endrinal made the announcement on Thursday, September 16, after Lovi and Piolo signed their contracts as ABS-CBN artists.

Flower of Evil, which originally stars South Korean actors Lee Jun-ki and Moon Chae-won, follows the story of a husband who hides his vile history under a different identity. However, his detective wife attempts to unearth his past.

Lovi said that having the suspense drama as her first ABS-CBN project is “such a dream come true.”

Isa ito sa mga paborito kong K-drama. Kaya noong sinabi sa akin na ito ‘yung magiging proyekto ko, iba ‘yung naramdaman ko (This is one of my favorite K-dramas. That’s why when they told me it’s going to be my project, I was so hyped). I was so excited,” she said during the press conference on Thursday.

Lovi also shared her happiness in being paired with Piolo, saying she’s always wanted to work with him.

Sobrang pasasalamat ko na my first project ko [sa ABS-CBN] ay with Piolo. (I’m really thankful that my first project in ABS-CBN is with Piolo). I am so excited for a lot of things,” she said.

“It’s such a beautiful show. Thank you ABS-CBN sa pagtitiwala ‘nyo sa akin na makasama si Piolo at gawin ang (for trusting me to work with Piolo and do) ‘Flower of Evil,'” she said.

Other details about the project have yet to be announced, but Lovi shared that production for the series adaptation will begin after she finishes filming for the Hollywood movie The Chelsea Cowboy.

Aside from Flower of Evil, Lovi also said that she’s looking forward to joining ASAP Natin ‘To and doing a Star Cinema movie.

“I would love to do a romantic comedy film. I’ve done like more movies on the sensual side, those kinds of roles. So I wanna do something that’s light and fun,” she said.

Lovi added that she’s also willing to appear in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.

“The show has been running for so long and is very successful. The fact that there’s Coco Martin and it was Papa’s movie, it would be amazing,” she said. Ang Probinsyano was one of the movies of the late actor Fernando Poe Jr., Lovi’s father.

She said: “That would be a good experience. I hope, if given the opportunity, if our schedules would permit, that would be a nice opportunity.”

Lovi, 32, was a former GMA talent for 15 years. She is best known for her television series Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real, Legacy, Yesterday’s Bride and movies Sana Dati, Thy Womb, and Mayohan.  – Rappler.com
