Netflix and Riot Games confirmed on Sunday, November 21 that a second season of Arcane, the animated series based on League of Legends, is in the works.

“We’re beyond happy about the positive response to Arcane’s first season and are working hard with the creative wizards at Riot and Fortiche to deliver our second installment,” series co-creators Christian Linke and Alex Yee said in a statement.

While there weren’t many details given regarding the second season, it has been confirmed that Hailee Steinfeld, Ella Purnell, and Katie Leung will all be reprising their voice roles for characters Vi, Jinx, and Caitlyn Kiramman, respectively.

Their voices were also featured in a 30-second teaser that was released alongside the season two announcement. The news of season two comes shortly after the first season aired its last chapter on Netflix.

Set in the League of Legends gaming universe, Arcane is a nine-episode series that tells the origin story of two legendary characters, Jinx and Vy.

The second season of Arcane will be executively produced by Linke, alongside Marc Merrill, Brandon Beck, Jane Chung and Thomas Vu. A release date has yet to be announced. –
